Virgin PTFE and PTFE compounds production specialists
We produce virgin PTFE and PTFE compounds based on our customer’s requirements.
Virgin PTFE powder and PTFE compounds are revolutionary materials that offer a unique combination of outstanding properties, making them ideal for a wide range of industrial applications. If you’re looking for high-performance solutions with lasting reliability, PTFE is the ideal solution.
Advantages of virgin PTFE
- Unparalleled chemical inertness. PTFE is chemically inert, resisting attack by almost all chemicals, including strong acids, solvents and corrosive agents. This property makes it ideal for aggressive environments where other materials would rapidly degrade.
- Low coefficient of friction. PTFE boasts the lowest coefficient of friction of all known solids, turning it into an outstanding dry lubricant. It reduces friction and wear between moving surfaces, improving efficiency and component life.
- Wide temperature range. PTFE maintains its properties over a wide temperature range, from -200°C to +260°C. This characteristic makes it suitable for applications in extreme environments where other materials would fail.
- Excellent electrical insulating properties. PTFE is an outstanding electrical insulator with high dielectric strength. It makes it ideal for electrical and electronic applications.
- Non-flammable. PTFE is a non-flammable material and does not support combustion, ensuring safety in fire-prone environments.
- Nonstick properties. PTFE has excellent nonstick properties, preventing substances from sticking to its surface. It makes it ideal for molds, coatings and applications where easy product release is needed.
PTFE compounds
PTFE, already known for its outstanding properties such as chemical inertness, thermal and electrical insulation, low friction and resistance to extreme temperatures, is further enhanced by the addition of inorganic and polymer fillers. This process allows tailor-made materials with specific characteristics to meet the needs of different applications.
Advantages of PTFE compounds
- Superior strength. Fillers such as carbon, bronze and graphite improve compressive and wear resistance, making the material ideal for components subjected to high loads.
- Customizable properties. The choice and amount of inorganic fillers (glass, molybdenum disulfide, mica) and polymeric fillers (polyamides, aromatic polyesters, PAI, PPS, PEEK) define the final characteristics of the compound, tailoring it to specific needs.
- Established experience. ITAflon® has years of experience in selecting PTFEs, fillers, treatments and mixing techniques to optimize compound properties.
